How can we imagine things we cannot see? How can we regulate and govern technologies that are new and complicated? Some folks focus on the technology aspects, others focus on markets and laws.
I’m a political scientist, and I ask how politics at multiple levels of global governance affect technology pathways and outcomes.
I take this approach because PEOPLE – individuals, scientists, community members, elected officials, leaders – have choices about why, when, and to what purpose we use technologies. It’s not just markets- it’s also how technologies affect people’s lives.
